Full Tilt Announced FTOPS VIII Schedule

Leading Macintosh friendly online poker room Full Tilt Poker has announced its schedule for their second FTOPS of 2008. This is their 8th event overall and it will be highlighted by a $2 million guaranteed Texas Hold’em championship event.

The concept of FTOPS are much like high-stakes Vegas Style tournament series, similar to the World Series of Poker, with the only real difference being the tournaments take place online. The winner of each tournament receives a championship gold as well as the large first place guaranteed payout. One thing quite popular about these events is the tournaments are not strictly Texas Hold’em. The 24 tournaments that are part of the series vary from Pot Limit Omaha, Omaha Hi Lo, HORSE and much more. Each tournament is hosted by a Full Tilt Poker sponsored player and every final table is provided with commentary by the pros and Poker After Dark announcer Ali Nejad.

Full Tilt is throwing a curve ball somewhere in this FTOPS VIII, as there are three mystery events that are supposedly unlike anything they’ve done in the past. They haven’t given any clues as to what these mystery events will be, but Full Tilt is known to give away some really extravagant prizes, so have your bankrolls ready to enter these mystery events.

Although most FTOPS tournaments have large buy-ins, Full Tilt makes these tournaments accessible to players of all bankroll levels by offering event qualifiers (satieties) which cost as little as $3.30 to enter. Details about these satellites can be found on the Full Tilt Poker website.

Another cool thing with the FTOPS series is that players who have success in these events earn themselves some FTP Swag to go with the cash winnings. Players that make the final table of any event will receive a FTOPS VIII limited edition jacket. Any player who places first will receive the jacket, gold FTOPS hockey jersey, gold jersey Full Tilt avatar and an entry into the FTOPS Season II Tournament of Champions.

Full Tilt is running the “Bouncebackability” promotional freeroll, which is a really cool promo for players that tend to bubble. How it works is, that any player who bubbles in an FTOPS event will be automatically entered into an exclusive freeroll, where the winner will receive a buy-in to the FTOPS IX Main Event. This freeroll will take place on May 24th.
