SunPoker For Mac

No USA Players AllowedMacintosh Compatible SunPoker

Sun Poker for Mac players does not accept USA residents as real money players. After the passage of the UIGEA act in 2006, SunPoker.com made the decision to stop taking players from US jurisdictions, to comply with American laws. Mac players in the states will not be able to play at this site, even though it supports Linux poker players.

Linux users outside the US can play at Sun Poker.com.

To play poker on your Mac from the United States we recommend PokerStars. They are the Internet’s leading Mac compatible poker room.

Sun Poker is a leading online poker room on the Cryptologic Network which is known for hosting some of the softest real money poker games online. Until recently there was no way for poker players to access these games from their Mac as the software was only available in a Windows full download version. The great news is that on April 23, 2008 a new version of the poker room launched which is no download flash based software therefore available on a Macintosh. To help celebrate this launch SunPoker.com is offering visitors a very special 3 part Sun Poker bonus offer.

Poker Promotions at Sun Poker

Linux players or PC players qualify to win two special promotions that are exclusive to Team SunPoker players. The first of these is the €12,000 Beer Pong Championship. The winner of the 2nd Annual Beer Pong event qualifies for the European Poker Tour Grand Final held in Monte Carlo. The Beer Pong Championship is a combination ping pong/beer drinking competition. In beer pong, two teams set up six cups of beer on either end of a ping pong table. The first team to bounce their ping pong balls into all six beer cups (taking turns, of course) wins, while the loser drinks all six cups of beer (so there is some consolation). The Canadian team won the competition last year.

Another special event at Sun Poker.com is the €12,000 SunPoker Last Longer Prop Bet. Of all the players sent by SunPoker to the CPC $1 Million event, the last man standing (sent by Sunpoker) in the tournament wins a free seat to the EPT Grand Final in Monte Carlo. Once again, Linux software players qualify for this promotion.

Mac Sun Poker No Download Software Review

Mac Sun Poker offers a no download flash-powered which is compatible with both Mac and PC software. As far as I know, SunPoker was the first Cryptologic online card room to offer an interface for the Mac. Sun Poker offers both a full download version of their software, for windows. Linux users will need to use the flash-player to play at SunPoker.com, but still have access to the entire virtual poker room layout.

Getting started playing poker on a Mac is easy. Visit the Sun Poker website and click on the button in the middle right side of the page titles “Instant Play”. It will take a couple minutes for the software to load inside of a new window. Once the software is loaded click on any game table and you’ll be prompted to log in or create a new account. From there just go along with the easy to follow instructions and you’ll be playing online poker on your Mac in just a few minutes time.

Sun Poker Game Traffic and Competition Review

Sun Poker is a part of the Cryptologic network, which reaches peaks of 1,300 real money ring game players playing at the same time. Many of the other skins on the Cryptologic network have online sportsbooks and casinos connected to their poker rooms. This creates an influx of fresh players trying out poker for the first time. Most of these players and regulars stick to the No Limit Texas Hold’em games. However, for a smaller network, there is a decent number of Omaha and 7 Card Stud games, and these virtual poker rooms are constantly running.

The competition at Sun Poker is a mixed bag for many poker players. It seems that there are tons of fish and gamblers that float over to the poker room from the sportsbooks and casinos of the network partner. Although, the good players seem to know about this and are waiting for these players to join their games. So, in general, the competition is full of really good players and absolutely horrific players. There is not as many average players on this network than there are at the typical online poker site, so try to figure out which sort of opponent you're playing quickly and adjust your game accordingly (or cash out and find the game you're looking for).

Linux Sun Poker Software Customer Support

Sun Poker offers customer support that is available through a toll free phone number and email. If Macintosh online poker players are having trouble at Sun Poker, they can call any time of the day or night for assistance. Linux-users can also send customer support an email question or comment.

The banking options that are available are: NETeller, Citadel, Firepay, Click2Pay, MasterCard, Visa, ECP, Bank Wire, and Checks.
